Beyoncé covers TIME's "100 Most Influential People" Issue

Bill O’Reily has set his attention back on Beyoncé for a second time. Back in March, the host spoke with Russell Simmons and slammed Bey as a bad role model for teenage girls stating her album glorifies sex.

“She puts out a new album with a video that glorifies having sex in the back of a limousine. Teenage girls look up to Beyoncé, particularly girls of color…Why on Earth would this woman do that?,” he said. “Why would she do it when she knows the devastation that unwanted pregnancies…and fractured families—why would Beyoncé do that?”

After Mrs. Carter appeared on the cover for Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential”, O’Reily set his sights back on the diva to criticize her influence on teenage girls.

“For young girls, especially those who do not have parental supervision, what Beyoncé does could have a negative influence,” O’Reilly said.

O’Reily goes on to explain that Yoncé is responsible in encouraging the teenage pregnancy phenomenon occurring in African American households. However, it’s easy to disagree with O’Reily here as all teenagers are able to decide themselves whether or not they want a baby. Even if their child is unplanned, Beyoncé isn’t encouraging anything. Pregnant teenagers can always research online what their options are if they find themselves in that situation. For example, teenagers in Portland can always look for some Portland abortion information to see if it’s legal in their city if that’s what they want. The music they listen to may have a slight impact on their behavior, but some would argue that Beyoncé can’t be to blame for the increase in African-American teenage pregnancies.

“Children unsupervised are doing things that are harmful to them. Beyoncé is part of that problem,” he explained. “She knows, this woman knows that young girls getting pregnant in the African-American community now is about 70 percent out of wedlock. She knows and doesn’t seem to care.”
