The Best Man Holiday cast is everywhere during their press runs for the highly anticipated sequel. Nia Long, Taye Diggs, and Sanaa Lathan cover JET magazine to share some secrets about their on-screen love triangle and black actors in Hollywood.

“We as moviegoers want to see ourselves,” Lathan says. “A lot of Black films that have been out lately have been of a certain stereotype and humor. This has a lot more depth. It’s not fitting the mold of what’s out now.”

Taye Diggs agreed by sharing, “Our films were really starting to explode and it was an interesting time. But then, people started making movies without us in them… Sadly, we’re still slaves to a system we don’t really control.”
