This week in UK Spin we have a plethora of goodies for you. With music from Shakka, YJ’s Deal or No Deal  and Nick Brewers’ Flat 10 mixtape, the UK underground scene has been producing very healthy bodies. Even OG Mic Skinner of The Streets surfaced with new music. Having been quiet since 2011 the spaced out 90’s garage backdrop, piano heavy stories of the night before is back with Know There’s No. The very nostalgic cut gives you a reminiscent feel of the fearless British frontman. There’s more about this week in UK Spin after the jump.

1.Little Simz Meets LA Reid

One to watch Little Simz who released her Blank Canvas mixtape via Jay-Z’s Life+Times website was in New York just last night showcasing some of her work of art for Epic’s very own LA Reid. If the Instagram flick is any indication, the young musician should be signed any day now.

South London’s very accomplished rapper Giggs has an issue with the police. “They talk about they wanna cut crime down, I do something positive and they fly down,” he raps on “Slow Songs.” Prior to the release of his sophomore star-studded album When Will It Stop, London Metropolitan Police department cancelled his show and album signing at the proclaimed HMV London store. Young Kingz Krept and Konan, who are now proud owners of a MOBO Award, inked their deal with Virgin EMI Records, despite having no radio or major label backing for their latest mixtape. It seemed the “work hard, play dirty” formula worked for the South London rappers. Check it out above.

Rudimental’s vibrant cut “Free” featuring Emile Sandé now has an accompanying video. With the previous release of the Nas remix who exclusively invited the 4 piece Hackney hailing band to New York for a collaborative session due to his strong liking to what they are doing here in the UK.

When she worked on it we were so excited.” Amir adds “although the concept for the down tempo track came quite late into the album process, it was rapidly written with ease. It was such a simple kick drum and guitar and me going ‘oh oh oh.’ She heard it and started making up words, singing, putting it together. The result is quite simply a magical record”
