While training our eyes to the #CRWN event live tweets Sunday night (Sept. 22), Kerry Washington was being snubbed at the 2013 Emmy Awards. According to Scandal’s gladiator Columbus Short, the lead actress, who plays the phenomenal Olivia Pope, was robbed of the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award.
“Robbed. Robbed I tell you. ROBBED,” Short tweeted. “@kerrywashington is without question the MOST OUTSTANDING. Well see you next year Emmys.” Washington’s co-star even had another idea in mind if he was in attendance. “I wish I could of ran on stage and pulled a Kanye.”
If Kerry Washington won, she would have made history as the first African-American actress to ever win the award. Season 3 of Scandal premieres on October 3 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
