Wyclef continues to face financial questions about what Hati is doing with all of the money being donated for the tragic earthquake that struck Hati roughly a year ago. At a press conference, Wyclef states that he has not used the donations for his own personal use but others question if he is really telling the truth.

Last week in Florida, no trace of the company could be found but records show the company’s head, Amsterly Pierre, bought three properties in Florida last year, including a condo. The firm incorporated in August 2008 but never filed any of the subsequent financial paperwork required to do business in Florida, according to the Florida Department of State.

Given the fact that Yele Haiti was involved in a controversy after the earthquake in Haiti, it’s all the more reason to be more cautious to ensure donors that their funds are going to help people, said the Better Business Bureau’s Bennett Weiner. Wyclef and the majority of the board left Yele in last year, but the new Director Derek Johnson ensures that everything is good.
