Maino – “That Could Be Us”

I was initially going to post this because Maino is Maino, one of the few rappers I doubt will ever be called out for something un-thug-like. That’s not even a real word, but the point was made. So upon hearing he had a song called “That Could Be Us” from the often-delayed album Day After Tomorrow, I thought the worst. You almost have to, right? Turns out, mom’s old adage of never judging a mp3 by its title reigns true.
The record is a laid back, open invitation to the woman in his life to settle down and become one of the great black couples – in the vein of Barack/Michelle, Jay/Bey, Will/Jada, so and so forth. A nice record as the temperature drops, I’d say. Don’t let the song fool you though. I’m about 97.3% sure he’d cave your face in if it came right down to it.
And just so we’re clear, the picture is in no way related to the song.
