Jon Connor feat. Elite – “Keep Your Head”

Every night I watch Sportscenter and see Knicks highlights, one of the first person I think of is my homie Elite. What’s this got to do with anything? Nothing, but you’ve read this much, so just sit through the rest of it. Now, for those not familiar with Elite, he’s the architect behind J. Cole’s “Who Dat,” Jadakiss and Styles P’s “Shootouts” and several other notable cuts. He’s also been in the lab with Jon Connor and “Keep Your Head” is the one of the results. According to nation, a large amount of credit goes to him for making it all possible (he didn’t say that, I did).
After posting Jon Connor on the site for the very first time back in September, Elite (co-producer of “Who Datâ€) hit me on IM saying he thought Connor was sick and that he wanted to give him a beat. I, at first, didn’t believe him… because we rarely (if ever) get any positive feedback from posting new artists, but I still put him in touch with the right people to see that this collaboration comes to fruition. Fast-forward to today, when this song hit the inbox and they let me premiere it.
For lack of a better description, Connor put his foot in this beat. Hell, Elite did too. It’s just a quality record altogether. Where there’s smoke, fire often follows. Hopefully this is only the start of a flood of tracks between these two
