Lil Wayne Moved To Solitary Confinement

With exactly one month left in his prison sentence, Lil Wayne’s time has hit a speed bump (nothing that pushes his release date back however). In May, Weezy was found with headphones and a charger for a MP3 player. The actual MP3 player was later found in another inmate’s cell nearby. For the most part, the infraction appeared to be forgotten, but Rikers Island has decided to make the last 31 days of his time there a solitary one.

The platinum-selling star – who calls himself “Weezy” – will be confined to an isolation cell for up to 23 hours a day until his scheduled release on Nov. 4, the sources said.

Weezy won’t be going near other inmates during the rare moments when he is not locked down in a so-called “punitive segregation” cell – known as “The Bing” among Rikers Island jailbirds.

“He’s not in an area where he is mingling with other inmates – ever,” a Correction Department source said.

This seems to conflict with what Wayne originally told – that he would be to transfered to a minimum security unit. His lawyer is at Rikers right now attempting to have him removed from solitary confinement. He will still be allowed his scheduled visits and mail.
