Last night, up and coming West Coast prodigy Kendrick Lamar performed in front of a sold out crowd at Los Angeles’ Key Club. Those in attendance were treated to a magical show which included not only Lamar running through his own hits, but a whos-who list of guest appearances.

Dr. Dre – who Lamar has been working closely with on Detox – may have been the biggest name. Yet, the rest of his Black Hippy members (Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul), DJ Quik, Murs, Skeme, Casey Veggies and Dom Kennedy all came out to show love. Ironically, Big Sean and J. Cole wrapped up a show not too far away at California State University and rushed over to the Key Club to be apart of the festivities. Even with surprise after surprise, Kendrick tried to grasp the moment and its importance.

“On some real shit DJ Quik, Murs, J. Cole, Big Sean… This shit is overwhelming for me man,” said Kendrick after making sure to point out Quik to his father who was seated on the floor above. Quik had been standing side stage in a VIP section with a digital recording device in hand, filming throughout the entire show.
