According to Hunger TV, Joel Compass is “Maxwell for a new generation”. Guardian newspaper also followed suit in saying that Joel “has just invented a new paradigm for British R&B.”

With that being said, the 19 year old lover of sciences and medicine has already written for John Legend and a plethora of other high ranking artists. Through his experimenting in music as a producer and vocalist, Joel has separated himself from many other artists in his age bracket.

On his sound – “If I had to describe my sound, I would say a fusion of soul, electronics, and atmospheric. My sound will become a lot more clearer when the EP comes out.”
