Rihanna is no stranger to tattoos. The “Pour It Up” crooner decided to get a permanent reminder of her time in New Zealand with a traditional Maori tattoo on her hand.

Following ritual standards, the lines and symbols were etched into her skin with a chisel, mallet and ink pigment. Her tattooist, Inia Taylor at the Moko Ink Studio in West New Zealand, kept his focus while he tattooed from her fingernails down to the middle of her forearm.

The bad gal kept her composure for the most part before notably showing some discomfort towards the end.
