The NBA Champion Miami HEAT visited the White House for the second straight year where they were honored by President Barack Obama for achieving basketball supremacy.

In the East Room of the White House, President Obama spoke with the team congratulating them on their victory over the San Antonio Spurs last year and speaking on charity work that is done by the team. During his time Obama also shared some connections that he has with the team.

“This group has now won twice but it’s gone to the Finals three times and, sometimes, it feels like they’re still fighting for a little respect,” Obama said.  “I can relate to that.”

The Miami HEAT have won two of the last three NBA Championships and are looking to visit the President next year for the third consecutive year.
