After having a record-breaking year in 2012 with her hit smash “Starships,” YMCMB First Lady Nicki Minaj and producer RedOne are under fire in the headlines a year later.

According to the Chicago Tribune, a ‘reclusive’ musician named Clive Tanaka claims that Minaj’s smash hit infringes on the song “Neu Chicago” by Clive Tanaka y su Orquesta.

Though completely different tone and message, the songs actually do hold similarities in sound. Tanaka’s camp was unavailable for comment at this time as his lawyer reported he is “working on a new album and screenplay.” We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this one as it develops.

In the meantime, take a listen to “Starships” and “Neu Chicago” after the jump and let us know what you think!
