It was a good day for women in hip hop when Nicki Minaj paid a visit to The Queen Latifah Show yesterday (Oct. 22). “I’m sitting here with a female rapper on a talk show started by a female rapper,” Queen Latifah said after welcoming Nicki to her talk show. “This is a moment for me.”

The two femcees chatted about the inspiration behind Nicki’s new clothing line, which is now available at Kmart. “My inspiration was a lot of the dresses I wore on (American) Idol were super expensive. My fans would be like, ‘Where did you get that?’ but they couldn’t necessarily afford it, like they’re in college or whatever,” Nicki explained. “So I wanted to make dresses that I would wear that are free flowing and they’re pretty and you could dress up.”

Latifah also challenged the Young Money rapstress to a game of “Wheel of Accents,” where the two showcased their best impressions. Press play to watch Nicki’s best British accent. – Alley Olivier
