Busta Rhymes has kept the world hungry with a freestyle verse laid here and there. Now, Busta has arrived with his first official single ahead of his upcoming album, Extinction Level Event 2. Previewed a week ago, the rapper taps into his super hero persona for “Calm Down” to battle it out with Eminem on the track. The duo trade verses over the Scoop Deville production featuring the classic horns from House of Pain’s “Jump Around.”

It has been a long road leading to E.L.E. 2’s release date, July 4th, which has taken four years to arrive. “I’m at a stage in my life where I don’t want to just make a hot album,” he explained to Fuse. “I don’t want to be out there promoting anything that feels like the cliché sh-t every other artist is doing. I want the music to speak for itself. I’m working on a legacy album. This ain’t a hot album: This is a legacy album… That’s why it’s taken four years to record it.”

With intentions of maintaing the integrity of the first Extinction Level Event: The Final Worldfront, the Brooklyn bred rapper is ready to “whoop ass” once again with “Calm Down” leading the way. Press play.
