It’s clear that there is no love in between Nelly and Floyd Mayweather, Jr., but to make sure that was clear the STL rapper took a shot at the boxing champ on ESPN2s Highly Questionable. After fielding questions about his controversial “Tip Drill” video, Nelly was questioned about his beef with Mayweather in which he responded that he didn’t have any beef.

Continuing to answer the question, Nelly states that he feels like Mayweather doesn’t like hearing the word no before stating, “It’s kind of hard talking to a guy that hasn’t graduated from high school.” If the hosts of the show don’t make it clear, that was a stinger.

The actual rift between Nelly and Mayweather originates from Shantel Jackson, the ex-fiancee of Floyd and current girlfriend of Nelly. To check out the full statement from Nelly read it below or watch him state it in the clip above.

” I don’t have a beef with Floyd Mayweather. You know what I’m saying? For me, for the most part I think the whole thing is misunderstood. You know uhh, I try to understand where he’s coming from, which is a little hard to do . But it’s just one of those things where I guess he is who is and you know he’s one of those people that I don’t think, like’s the word ‘No’, said to him. You know and I think if anybody does that, I think that’s what kinda gets underneath his skin a little bit. But, I don’t know. It’s kinda hard talking to a guy who hasn’t graduated from high school.”
