Additional audio of Donald STerling's reported conversation with V. Stiviano has been released

It has been four days since the alleged audio tape of Donald Sterling’s racist comments has surfaced. In those four days, eyes have been set on Adam Silver, NBA commissioner, who is placed in the position to decide what is to be done with Sterling’s reported views. Being an owner of a team, in a sport where an overwhelming majority of the athletes are African American, have sparked both athletes, advertisers, organizations and celebrities to demand immediate action be taken.

With a press conference soon to be held, Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson – a former NBA all-star and current National Basketball Player’s Association advisor – has called on Silver to indefinitely suspend Sterling and slap him with the highest fine allowed.

“The NBPA has asked Commissioner Silver to impose the most severe sanctions possible under the NBA bylaws,” Johnson’s statement read. “We may not have the power to force Mr. Sterling to sell his team, but make no mistake, we believe that Mr. Sterling should no longer have the privilege of being an owner of an NBA team. After all, how can we expect any player (the majority of whom are African-American) to want to work for him?”

Johnson goes on to explain that this stance will prove that racism will not be tolerated at any level in the NBA or sporting world as sports should be seen as a bridge between races.

“At a minimum, Mr. Sterling should be suspended indefinitely, banned from games, slapped with the maximum fine possible, and forced to extract himself from basketball operations. He should be required to name someone from his executive team or family to take over all duties related to the Clippers,” he added.

Johnson fully expects Silver to take agree and take this stance in regards to this controversy. Whether he is or has other plans is yet to be established as we await official confirmation following the press conference today. Stay tuned.
