Nas made a surprise appearance during Killer Mike and El-P’s private Q&A appreciation event for their newly released Run the Jewels 2 album. During his impromptu stop, the Queens MC showed more than just support for the rapper-producer duo. Vibing with the music the two are putting out, Nas deemed the moment appropriate to finally showcase some new music he has brewing.

“This is the type of feel that I’m in, what they’re [Run the Jewels] doing I like to say I’m doing that kind of sound,” he said before previewing “The Season.” Produced by the late J-Dilla, the beat originally appears in “Gobstopper” cut off his 2006 Donut LP.
