Meek Mill Visits Philly Neighborhood

It has been a busy day for Meek Mill. After an online air out of a label mate the Dreamchaser visited a Southwest Philadelphia neighborhood to provide support after a fire killed four young children this past Saturday (July 5).

NBC 10 Philadelphia was on scene as Meek toured the 6500 block of Gesner Street with residents who showed displayed the fire damage.

“I just wanted to come by and show my support to all of the families and everybody that was hurt by this situation,” Meek said during his visit. “I feel I’m in a position where I can help these people. Anything I can do to help them with their losses, I’m gonna do it.”

During his time spent on Gesner Street, Meek spoke with Patrick Sanyeah, the father of victims Patrick Sanyeah and Tai Jacque, who shared his final moments with his son and Comfort Bowah, the oldest sister of the other two victims Maria and Marialla.

“It feels good to have him show up for us and to know that he cares,” said Bowah.

Just yesterday a protest outside the local fire station occurred due to claims that the response from the department was delayed, which was refuted by Mayor Michael Nutter and other city officials.
