What’s in a crispy chicken wrap? Do any of you know? If you do, then you probably know from the controversial and highly talked about Burger King commercial which features R&B singer Mary J. Blige. In the commercial, we see Mary singing about the contents of what exactly makes the company’s new chicken wrap. What exactly sparked the fire? Accusations of the company being racist for having an African-American sing about chicken.

In a statement to TMZ, Mary J. says she never signed off on the ad:

I agreed to be a part of a fun and creative campaign that was supposed to feature a dream sequence. Unfortunately, that’s not what was happening in that clip.

I understand my fans being upset by what they saw. But, if you’re a Mary fan, you have to know I would never allow an unfinished spot like the one you saw to go out.

Burger King backs Mary and her statements saying that the ad was released prematurely and has since then been removed from YouTube and all other sites promoting the ad. The official ad is to be released very soon.

Hm… fresh lettuce, anyone?
