Already covering this month’s issue, Mack Wilds joined VIBE’s Mikey Fresh for the latest episode of 24 Hours. Originating from New York Wilds was not foreign to the sites and sounds of the Big Apple but joined in for a packed day in Manhattan. While moving through the area which the two went to Union Square, Publish’s Showroom, The Reedspace boutique and stopped for some hot dogs.

During their time together Mack Wilds provided Mikey with some details of growing up in NYC, chronicling stories of sneaking out of his house in order to explore the city on his own. Continuing to provide information on his early career, Mack shares what it’s like being an actor with experiences ranging from fans taking notice from 90210 or being cautious from his character of Michael Lee from The Wire.

As a singer, Wilds disclosed that he didn’t know how the album, New York: A Love Story, would turn out but was created out of thinking about home.

“It was an album that was really birthed off of our nostalgia from home,” Mack stated. “I said ‘yo I want to make something, whether its an album, a mixtape whatever we make, I want to make something that no matter where in the world we are I put this in and it sounds like home.'”

Within visiting Publish’s Showroom and The Reedspace boutique, the “Own It” singer described his style as “old school Americana meets the hood,” while showing loyalty to New York style over Los Angeles and naming Staple as his current favorite brand.
