Oscar award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o announced via her Instagram account that she is one of the new ambassadors for Lancome Cosmetics and Skin Care.

The 12 Years as a Slave actress will be joining other historic actresses such as Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz and Lily Collins as a face for the company, however Lupita will be the brand’s first black ambassador.

Speaking on her new deal with Lancome, Lupita stated “beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.” Advertisements featuring the actress will start this summer.
