Karen-Civil-Congrats-

For the last three weeks we have watched the trails and tribulations of two relationships on Love & Hip Hop New York: Joe Budden and Tahiry, and Peter Gunz’s love triangle with Amina and Tara.

During last night’s circus episode, we witnessed Tahiry’s heart break (again) suspecting that her on-and-off again boyfriend of 12 years was cheating after finding makeup marks and hair in their bed. Surely enough, in the middle of their couples counseling session, Tahiry confronted Joe, and true to form, with his usual calmness, he saw nothing wrong with having a ”conversation” with another woman in his bed. But we’re all still wondering that if it was innocent, why couldn’t this conversation have taken place in the living room.

However, Tahiry and Joe’s storyline pales in comparison to Tara’s Waiting To Exhale moment after her man of 13 years, Peter Gunz, admitted that he’d actually married Amina. To express her pain, she cut up all his instruments and clothes…. but Peter tried to point fingers (literally) at Tara and their separate sleeping arrangements.

Hold up. Why are these men placing the blame of their cheating ways on the women?

Joe accused Tahiry of not trusting him while Peter Gunz pointed fingers (literally) at Tara because they haven’t been having sex. Seriously? Then, adding insult to injury (yes, the slap heard around Ratchet TV), Peter Gunz told Amina to put herself on the backburner for a little bit. But wait, should the side-wife really place herself on the backburner to shield and protect his other women? At this point, rings and last names have been copped. Does Amina have no martial rights? The man even told her she deserved the punch she received for sharing their marriage information. And although we all hate side chicks, is it really her fault?

Moral of the story: If you’re unhappy or want to have ‘conversations’ with female friends be single, don’t stay cozied up in a committed relationship. Get your ish and leave. –Shanae Hatchett
