Legendary singer Bobby Womack died Friday (June 27) at the age of 70. Rolling Stone reports that a representative from Womack’s label, XL Records, confirmed the death of the singer but at the moment the reason for his death is not known.

Womack was an artist who released classic material over decades, most known for his 1981 major R&B hit, “If You Think You’re Lonely Now.” Over recent years Bobby Womack struggled with health problems such as diabetes, pneumonia, colon cancer and early signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
