New Orleans native Kevin Gates has had a stellar year thus far. While he’s currently touring the country on his “By Any Means” tour, Gates generously gives us a monstrous new track titled “Out The Mud.” With a hard-hitting, head-nodding instrumental, Kev takes us from the very bottom where he started and explains how he ‘got out the mud’ to where he’s at today. There’s no telling where this song will live just yet, but the South has just been blessed with another banger.

We recently premiered a controversial video from Kevin Gates titled “Posed To Be In Love” where Gates exposes the pain and hurt that comes with domestic violence. While certain topics are tough to discuss, it’s always a beautiful thing in hip-hop when the artists talk about real-life scenarios and real issues. There’s a time and place for everything when it comes to music, but “reality rap” will always persevere.

Like he did with “Posed To Be In Love,” Gates gives us another piece of reality in the form of a captivating new track; listen to “Out The Mud” on the following page.
