  1. I am the biggest j. cole fann!! I am driving all the way from UVA to see his concert for my birthday also that weekend on the 29th! I know the lyrics to every single song, and I have never had the chance to go to a J. 3. I’m a Howard University Senior majoring in Advertising. I’ve attended two J. Cole concerts related to Howard University and I met and took a picture with him when he came to play Basketball in our Gymnasium. I follow J. Cole on twitter and I follow his blog. I tweet him every week telling him I love him and I have all of his mixtapes and random radio freestyles! I deserve to party with J. Cole simply because I am a true example of how hard work and determination yields success, much like Jermaine. I admire the man he is and I respect the music he makes, it’s more than just partying with someone you adore, it’s about making dreams come true!

    I LOVE JERMAINE LAMARR COLE!

  5. I Deserve to meet J.cole because i absolutely adore him! I have the Come Up, the Warm Up & Friday Night Lights ( the regular & the chopped & screwed versions) just so i can listen to them at all timesss! I saw him when he was in tampa & did LAST DAMN SHOW, but was sad they only let him do a few songs, & found out about the free concert he also did at USF 3 months after 🙁 . I Love Cole for the fact everything he raps about is relevant & you can really relate to what he says, the high school sports star theme, is something alot of people my age can relate too. (College wise too) . My favorite cole verse i’d have to say is his feature on ‘Looking For Trouble’ “Funny You Been Sleeping On The One That You Been Dreaming About 🙂 <3" POINT IS I LOVE J.COLE! & IF I GET A CHANCE TO MEET HIM I WILL BE THE HAPPIEST GIRL ALIVE!!!!!

    Sincerely Raquel.

I deserve a chance to party with J. Cole because I believe I am one of his biggest fans. I have been listening to him since he released The Come Up and I have always been inspired by his lyrics and his drive to be the best. I think his lyricism is phenomenal and I’ve always felt like I connect with what he tries to put across. Getting the chance to party with J. Cole would be awesome and a memorable moment in my life.

Me and my cousin are HUGE J.Cole fans. We deserve to party it up with him b/c we didn’t get a chance to see him for the European Concert ( the economy SUCKS!) and show our support for his music but this would be a GREAT opportunity. We were lucky enuff to see him in New York for last year’s Summer Jam, but he means more to us than just one concert. We file him under the “intelirap” category (intelligent rap) where very few artists go these days because of his witty lyrics and BEAST rap style. My cousin has quoted SO MANY of his lyrics as statuses on Twitter and Facebook and nothing else because she can so easily relate to the story he has to tell, as I’m sure many of his other fans can. We know how to party and we rep hard for dope artists so we should be in the building! While others may sit up there staring at him in a daze at the party, we will be helping him celebrate right!! 🙂

  11. I honestly feel like J.Cole is the revolutionary vision that Tupac Shakur was in the 90’s,(That’s pretty major considering he hasn’t dropped his Debut yet) with the state of music being in it’s “Gimmick” stage, Cole is a breath of fresh air. I haven’t had the chance to see him live yet but once I do, I know that’ll be a proud moment because I’ll be watching a peer, someone in my age bracket (im 22 he’ll be 26 next week) change the current state of music. I think people take to him and co-sign him so much because he’s simply himself, he’s like the guy sitting in your English class. In fact, he really IS that relatable, he went to St; Johns Univ. Graduated with a 3.8, Played Ball, he did everything us “normal” people do all while trying to tell his story. I like the fact that his story relates to mine and im shouting in agreement with each line he spits “You makin good salary, just to pay Sallie Mae”. He’s amazing. I was impressed with all 3 mixtapes, especially “The Warm Up”, I feel like he really introduced himself with that one, and what he represents “I represent the struggle n*gga I say what they never say.”–Dollar and A Dream. All in all, I feel like Cole is a chill dude who wants to tell his story and help people in the process and I would be elated if I got the chance to celebrate his birthday with him!, I think after a while, the “Celebrity” of it all would wear off and J.Cole would become simply Jermaine..he’s that easy going and I love him for that!

  12. Hello,

Instead of me repeating facts that yourself and all his fans know about
J.Cole, I’m just going to simply say that I admire his come up. We all know it’s not easy to break into the music industry; he accomplished this and completed his college education with honors. How can you not admire someone with that type of drive and determination?! I also believe he is a great example for young people of color that while they dream of being an artist and or athlete, having an education is a tool that no one can take away from you or undermine. In J.Cole’s case, no one can deny his lyrical skills which I believe is a testament to his intellectual accomplishments. I wish him continued success and a very Happy Birthday with me of course:). Thank you.

  13. Hello there!

Well, the reason that I should win this opportunity to celebrate Jermaine’s birthday in style with him is because I KNOW that I am literally his biggest fan. I first heard him on The Blueprint 3 and I was immediately in AWE with his verse. I was more focused on trying to get HIS verse down than Jay-Z’s verses.

  14. Ingrid Lopez says:

It would be an honor to party with J.Cole I absolutely love that guy , not only is a he a great rapper but he’s gorgeous as well. I’m a HUGE Jay-Z fan of course, and as soon as I found about him signing J.Cole to ROCNATION I was ecstatic …. I know you’re probably tired of hearing that people have his mixtapes cause obviously everyone does or else how would they know how good of an artist he is… well ALL I know I frickin love HIM! I saw him Dec 5 at the Highline Ballroom & hes an outstanding performer. I just want to get the pleasure to party with him for his birthday since we’re both aquarius 😉 …. Hopefully it comes true. I LOVE YOU J.COLE

  15. Ingrid Lopez says:

    I love J.COLE

  16. Ingrid Lopez says:

I think I should win a trip to spend the day with jcole because I appreciate his music and he’s an inspiration to many people especially to me , I find myself in love with his music, how it relates to me and how it makes me feel on a daily bases ,He made a change in Hip Hop that people have tried to make and haven’t , and I will really love to meet him in person it will be a dream come true, to met someone who has made a change in my life without notice! 🙂 I LOVE J.COLE … COLE WORLD NO PEACOAT 😉

  17. Karen, ‘
Im going to try to make this simple and tell you WHY I SHOULD WIN this CONTEST surrounding my FAVORITE EMCEE J.COLE:
On Jan 28 1985 a “star was born” and I knew that “it wont be long” before this “lil ghetto nigga”, “would blow up!” He is compared to some of the greatest rappers out here and im not being “2 faced” when I say that “I can live” for his music. I listen to this man “in the morning” and at night his music influences my “dreams.”
Not to metion that his voice is soooo “enchanting”…lol
Ok but “back to the topic” on why I should win. When it comes to being a stan there is no “holdin me back”. “I get up” and “I really mean it” when it comes to his “metaphors”. When I listen to him I feel like ‘im on top of the world.” His lyrics are the swings to the ‘playground’ in my mind” they just take me “higher” and higher like the “new York state (of mind” song does. And when “im coming home,’ and I have people ‘passing me by’ in my car, im usually blasting “Bun B for president” followed by “Friday night lights” and “grown simba”. I get people calling me and interrupting my “relaxation”, i ended up with a lot of “problems” b/c I told them fools to “leave me alone”, but the “last call” I got was from my sister asking me “who dat” you listening to? I simply reply.. aw, that’s my “Best Friend”.. she asked if we still close and I said “knock on wood”… we will be cool “forever”…

If you need more reasons let me know…. i do this in my sleep for him!!

  18. Hello there, Karen!

Okay, well a lot of people are aware of the fact that I am indeed one of J. Cole’s BIGGEST fans, if not the biggest. So, here are my reasons why I should win the contest:

Like many, I first heard him on “A Star Is Born” and I was in awe. I was literally more focused on trying to get HIS verse downpat than I was with Hov’s verses. I love pretty much everything about his music..from his flow, delivery to his lyricism and metaphors.

One of my favorite Cole lines from one of my favorite Cole songs (Grown Simba) is:

“Greedy niggas wouldn’t let me in the cafeteria/Cuz they didn’t believe/Suddenly they presbyterian”

Smh, that line just go stupid to me. I admire the fact that he tells stories with his music and paints such vivid pictures…much similar to Pac. I appreciate the fact that he doesn’t have to rap about money, cars, clothes/jewelry and hoes in order to get your attention like your typical rapper. That’s because he’s NOT your typical rapper. He’s authentic, he’s driven. He’s motivated, he’s HUNGRY and you can listen to any of his mixtapes and clearly see that. J. Cole doesn’t put on a facade, he spits from his SOUL.

He’s letting the world know that it’s okay to come from having nothing in the hood, it’s okay to have a dream. It’s okay to be yourself, it’s okay to want to go to school to further your education.

“You see I ain’t afraid of obstacles/And what you niggas call impossible is possible”

Within the time that I first began listening to J. Cole’s music, I quickly became a fan, and I’ve never once regretted it because his music hasn’t disappointed me since. When I go to sleep at night, the last song that is usually played on my ipod is a J. Cole track and when I wake up in the morning, the first thing that I want to listen to is J. Cole.

This guy’s got real potential, I would even go as far as saying that he’s a modern day Pac. It’s only a matter of time before he really does BLOW UP and the whole world knows his name and are reciting his lyrics like a Maya Angelou poem.

    Don’t say I didn’t warn you. 😛

  19. Destinee Statts says:

i absoluley love j. cole. he’s lyrics are true and he is the best rapper ever. i know all the words to every song and i never get tired of listening to him!

He goes hard. He has a better flow than half the dudes out right now. And his music is pure hip-hop…tight verses and simple beats.

  22. Nikki says:

    j.cole is simply amazing.

ive been a long supporter of the roc, i am like a rocnation running back. j.cole is different, and if a great like jay-z can recognize, i will follow in belief. his music is a big fast forward into the future. He brings hope and swagg into my ear drums and heart. his punchlines rose my cheeks, and and curves the corners of my lips upward. he knows how to arrange, and put complete thoughts together….in a short word “perfection”. he respects women and thats so cool..it would be so killa to chill with the illest in my city. perfect party for the winter time, cus its right now its a “cole-world”.

i deserve to party with j.cole because i believe he is rockin it. music is my pulse, lyrics are my thoughts, and the artist who create’s it is my heart…

  23. Jacqueline says:

    Karen,
I would say I’m the biggest fan, but seriously who isnt? Cole is in a world of his own. No competition. I’m glad there is finally someone out there that I a 26 year old college grad can understand.
I am just happy to see him out there making it happen and showing that one can actually be great by just being you. Aye Be-You thats when it sounds Be-You-tiful!! I think that actually the best line I have ever heard.
All these contestants should win… We are all part of a great movement that is changing the face of hip hop in making it meaningful again.
Shout out to Aboniye, her comment is by far the illest.
Great Work Karen and please keep doing what you do… You are by far the best at it

I would love a chance to win this contest to celebrate at J Coles birthday. J Cole is slowly becoming one of my favorite rappers. A day doesn’t go by where I don’t listen to at least one song off of The Warm Up or Friday Night Lights. In fact I haven’t stopped playing Friday Night Lights since the night I waited 2 hrs to download it. I listen to FNL more than I listen to albums I actually paid for and I cant wait to go in a store and purchase his debut album. I know I will buy at least 3 copies probably more just because his lyrics speak to me. I want to get copies for me and the people I know that may not want to give him a chance right away. Being a college student I feel like Cole’s raps directly correlate to my life. I can recite most of his lyrics word for word even “Pass Me By” that I just downloaded this pass Friday. I cannot wait to go to one of his concerts and see him perform live. I was so disappointed that I was unable to go to any of the shows with him and Drake but I hope that the Cole World tour comes soon to a city close to me. I really hope I can win this contest but if I cant thank you Karen for the opportunity and I hope J Cole has a Great birthday!

  26. David Childs says:

    @DC_FLYGaNg

I think i should have a chance to party with J.Cole because i have always been a strong supporter of his music since his first mixtape “the come up” to “the warm” and now his banger “friday night lights”. I even go on wikipedia.com to see how he made it up in the game. Alot of people dont even know that he was born in Frankfurt, Germany before he turned 1 thats when he moved to Fayetteville North Carolina. Also people think that he is only a rapper but he produces and produced alot of his own things. He attended St. Johns University and graduated Magna cum laude on a communications degree. Before he was J.Cole his moniker was therapist, but besides given out the mans identity i think i should be given a chance to party with him because i am an unsigned artist and i do want to follow the same route he took to make it to the position where he is today. His music inspires me alot and his beats are way different than what people are use to hearing on mainstream. And the number one reason why i think i should be given a chance to meet one of my favorite artist and kick it with him because he “KEEPS IT REAL”. I want to thank those who took the time to read this. God Bless you all.

  27. @Pretty_Tesha

Not only does J.Cole tell his life story he tells stories for everyone in the life struggle. If your poor, a college student, black, a single mother, fatherless child, etc…, Cole has a song that you can relate to. Im more than just a fan, im a supporter! He gives his fans food for thought but the best food for me are the lyrics that he feeds his fans and listeners about fathers. “Ain’t it shameful how niggas blame hoes for giving birth to a baby that took two to make, coward nigga you a fake, How you gon look in your sons face and turn your back and then go start another family dog what type of shit is that?” – Lights Please
Its very rare that a single mother hears a BLACK man rap about how we feel or what we are experiencing. He speaks the words so clear that a blind man can see our pain and a deaf man can hear our struggle. “alot of n-ggas getting older but they never grow up and do they son’s like they fathers did and never show up don’t even cry about it, just another episode of life” – Enchanted
In the past four months I have attended 3 shows in NC and even flew to NYC to see his last show in at the Highline ballroom. Like other fans I have not only met him but shed tears in his presence which I must say was embarrassing. The tears were all worth it because his music gives me, a single mother of three young children, motivation to continue to strive for my dreams. His messages of obstacles and triumph keep me encouraged “What you n*ggas call impossible is possible” – Song For The Ville
I deserve to celebrate with Cole because im a true fan and im sure he would appreciate being around a fan that remembers him when he was selling music in Greensboro NC on NCA&T’s campus. (ive been listening since way back then) Not too many REAL fans remember those days!
I’m from NC and PROUD to be a J.Cole fan! “No matter the city Carolina shines regardless…”- Carolina in My Mind- J.Cole If I don’t win the contest Im coming to show bday love in DC! The drive is truly worth it! Happy Bday Cole!
    #coleworld #dreamville #DMV-NC
Recrutn’ @jcolenc fans on Twitter 24-7…my tweets show it all!

*He has that flame his rhymes are so deep! (some of my favorites)
“Want see him disappear like the old ant Viv! …Wise enough to know that money can’t buy you happiness or lovers but it’s gone get my momma out the struggle.” – Rags to Riches.
“A message to you fuck niggas, I hope your kids grow up and neva wanna fuck withcha!” – Unabomber
“This is where the fathers aint living at least not with us might see um around the city and want even say whats up” “Sons raised by broke queens but its no kings(Omen)” – Encanted
“I’m a provide for my seed I’m the soil, I teach em’ bout’ loyalty I teach em’ that his skin black like oil that’s for royalty I show em’ all the things that my pops was neva showin’ me Treat em’ like a growin’ tree with this poetry“ – I get up*

  28. I don’t even know where to begin .

well , I believe I should get the chance to celebrate with J. Cole on his birthday because I feel like I’m one of his biggest fans . I fell in love with him when I heard him on Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 album . his verse was beyond amazing . then I heard the track “lights please” and I was like “man , this dude is ill .” I had to find out more about him . that’s when I went on a search for his mixtapes . I copped “The Come Up” and “The Warm Up” . I beyond fell in love with his music when I heard his verse on Wale’s track “Beautiful Bliss” . I knew after hearing that verse that J. Cole is the truth and future in music .

I had been waiting so long to see him do a show , but most of his stuff was on the east coast . so when I heard about him being at UCR last September , I had to go . I saw him perform live for the first time on September 24th, 2010 . it made me respect him THAT much more because his stage presence is just so hyped and amazing . he gets the crowd so into his music . after that show , I found out about him going on tour . I immediately purchased tickets to his show in Los Angeles at The Key Club . I was right by the stage so I got to experience his performance literally right in front of my eyes . I was in awe when he stepped out on stage . I loved his LA show so much that I took a day trip to Vegas on November 27th, 2010 to see him perform at Haze Nightclub . that night around 9pm before anyone was lined up to get let in , I was blessed with the opportunity to meet J. Cole .

I swear this man is incredible . he was so down to earth and just extra chill when I met him , and in awe when I told him that I took the Greyhound out to Vegas just to see him perform . people thought I was crazy for doing it , but in the end it paid off because I got to meet my favorite artist .

I believe I deserve the chance to party with him because I’m a dedicated fan . I’ll go to any measures to see him perform because I’m in love with his music THAT much . I believe he’s truly going down in history as one of the greats . his music speaks to me . his voice and lyrics soothe my soul . when he spits , he can make me feel like I’ve been in a situation that I’ve never been in . to me , that feeling is incredible . and I just relate to his music as well . he talks about real shyt , and doesn’t care about being different . J. Cole is just him , and it works . the man is incredible and I feel like it’ll be an honor to celebrate his birthday with him , especially since my birthday is February 10th . I’ve been trying to win the Snowed In tickets that he’s gonna be at on Ferbuary 12th , but I don’t think I’m gonna win those :-/ so this would be incredibly amazing . I’m in California , but I’d definitely fly to DC in a day to see him .

that’s why I think I should be blessed with the opportunity to celebrate with J. Cole . Cole World !

    here’s my info again :

    @__blackrose

  29. I deserve to party it up with J. Cole because we are both Aquarius and I just celebrates my birthday on the 20th so it would be the best gift for me to help him celebrate his! Cole world so let’s warm it up with popin some bubbly it’s a celebration please pick me!!!

  30. To deem one’s self as J.Cole’s biggest fan is truly all perspective. However, I believe I have had the great pleasure of meeting one of the top contenders for the title @Pretty_Tesha. Back in October, I attended my first Cole show at FSU, in Fayetteville, his home town. For me it was phenomenal, but for my concert mate @Pretty_Tesha it was the experience of a lifetime. Seriously, she was one of very few people who knew all the words to every song and after the performance was over she was very much emotion for the opportunity to just see him perform. That night, was the night I was introduced to this fictional world known as Dreamville, from listening to the music, to the stories, I realized I too was a resident of this town of dreams and hardship. J. Cole is not just a rapper, or an artist, but a narrator, whose conceptual storytelling makes him unique but relatable. I quickly learned why @Pretty_Tesha, was such a passionate follower, his stories about a black’s man triumph, and single mother’s struggles much resemble the obstacles she has faced. I have personally seen her use the music for inspiration, motivation, so Cole know that your words do breath life and hope. A fan not only listens, they support, and the recruit. @Pretty_Tesha is on a quest to convert the non-believers and to build a strong following here in NC, #DMVNC. She actively supports him online, on facebook, and twitter, and we have to been to three shows since FSU, including one to NY at Highline Ballroom. Her four year old son even knows who to access J.Cole videos on youtube lol. The music is a part of her life, because these are her stories too. For @Pretty_Tesha this would not be just a chance to party with J.Cole for his birthday it would be an opportunity for her to show gratitude and admiration: I think seeing a fan who is this dedicated and genuinely true would be one of the greatest birthday gifts one could give J.Cole for. So with that said, and as a way for me to express my appreciation for recruiting me as a J.Cole fan, I vote that @Pretty_Tesha be the recipient of this opportintunity, she is truly deserving and undoubtly, J.Cole’s biggest fan, hands down. #Coleworld!
