Since footage of former Baltimore Ravens running back, Ray Rice, assaulting his then fiancée, Janay Palmer, surfaced online yesterday (Sept. 8) it has been a medley of opinions and public uproar for the graphic visuals seen. Rice and Palmer have not spoken up about the leaked video or being indefinitely terminated from the NFL.

Early this morning (Sept. 9), Palmer wrote a post on Instagram – verified by the Baltimore Sun to be used by the public -slamming the media for capitalizing on an already embarrassing issue shared by the couple. “No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing,” she wrote.

She continues to express that despite the unfortunate circumstances she and her husband are in they will continue to stick together and rise above it. “Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!”

Mrs. Palmer. I can understand you’re hurt, you’re pain. But as a survivor of domestic violence, I also ponder on why , as the same breath you defend you’re husband. Not defend you’re self, and speak out against domestic violence. I was in a 13 year relationship with my kids father, started with controlling little words, to a slap. Many flowers, rings, and sorry in betweens. Mind you continued to have kids, then it went from I love him to, I have to keep our family together. Now I’m 32, a shattered tail bone, on x-ray my head looks like swiss cheese, from all the times, I was hit. Mind you I kept it from my kids, silent cries, plenty of make up. Etc. I got out almost a year ago, now I’m launching my cosmetic line, picking the pieces up to my life,, and loving me. I’m not hear to tell you to leave. I’m here to speak out against it. What can you learn from this. There are woman, and girls all around the world. That need to hear encouragement. Or what you two are doing to help , makesure this don’t happen. Not just defend. Reach out, shout out. Save a life. Don’t wait tell 15 years done past, you’re body hurts, and you ask you’re self why ? You and you’re family our in my prayers !!!
