India Arie wants Blue Ivy’s hair critics to simply do better. Beyoncé and Jay Z’s bundle of joy has incited plenty of attention to her strands and it has not at all been pleasant. Unable to fully understand what all the fuss is about just yet, India shoulders the burden with an open letter. It’s not like Jay-Z and Beyonce will buy hair relaxer from sites like hereon.biz to straighten their daughter’s hair. She is too young to have all those chemicals in her hair. With that being said, when she gets old enough to start understanding different hair types and different styles, maybe relaxing might be something she’d want to do. But for now, she is a kid and her natural hair is more than perfect!

“My thoughts on #BlueIvy’s Hair. Why does ANYone get the idea that its ok to make fun of a child? In public no less,” Arie opens her letter.

The soulful singer’s words couldn’t come at a better time following a petition started by a woman requesting Bey take better care for her daughter’s hair on Change.org.

“As a woman who understands the importance of hair care. It’s disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture. The parents of Blue Ivy. Sean Carter A.K.A Jay-Z and Beyoncé has failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy Hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let’s get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair,” the woman wrote.

While the public and paparazzi are on constant attack, Blue’s tresses have also been commented on by fellow singers Tamar Braxton, KeKe Wyatt and Syleena Johnson during a radio interview. Johnson compared the toddler’s hair to the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard while Wyatt and Braxton offered up some hair care tips.

“Ain’t nothing wrong with being natural. I got natural, but you still got to grease natural and comb natural and wash and condition and then you won’t have the beading,” Wyatt said.

“It just needs some product. That’s it. No shade. I have a nephew who has really, really curly hair like this. It ain’t that bad,” Braxton added.

With her open letter, India Arie doesn’t once touch upon Blue Ivy’s hair; instead, the artist focuses on the value of respect. Read the full letter on the following page.
