Hip-Hop’s March Madness

March is always a pivotal month in sports. The NFL is a month away from its draft. Major League Baseball officially begins its long to October. Meanwhile, the NBA and NHL both use the month to create momentum heading into their respective post-seasons in the following months. Above all, however, college basketball celebrates the greatest playoff system ever effectively known as “March Madness.”

While we all fill out our brackets (only to watch them go up in flames by the second week of the tournament), Hip Hop will be experiencing their own surplus of releases. Check the list.

March 1st – Kanye West & Jay-Z: Watch the Throne

March 8th – Lupe Fiasco: Lasers

March 8th – Raekwon Shaolin vs Wu tang

March 11th – Mac Miller: Best Day Ever (Mixtape)

March 18th – Curren$y: Pilot Talk 3

March 22nd- Chris Brown “F.A.M.E”

March 29th – Wiz Khalifa: Rolling Papers

March 29th – Big Sean: Finally Famous The Album

March 29th – Snoop Dogg: The Documentary

As much as I hope I’m wrong, I’d expect Big Sean and Chris Brown’s album to get pushed back mainly because the buzz around those projects isn’t exactly where it needs to be. Watch The Throne may get the same treatment because “H.A.M.” does not exactly have people going “ham” at the moment. I could be wrong though. Which albums are you looking forward to on the list? Hell, which albums are you looking forward to that aren’t on the list? Either way, at least on paper, March will be a busy month both on the field and inside the the booth.

UPDATE

March 1st – Chip Tha Ripper: Gift Raps

March 22nd – Big K.R.I.T.: Return Of 4Eva

I can’t believe and am horribly ashamed I forgot to mention these two initially.

@Kol – I hope you’re right. I don’t wish push backs on anyone, but sometimes they are needed.

Had to add K.R.I.T. and Chip Tha Ripper. Those projects will be nothing short of dope. I’m betting on it.
