Juno Awards Womens Curling

Every year Canada holds the Juno awards to celebrate the achievements of Canadian music artists in the past year. However, when it came time for the 2014 Sochi Olympic women’s curling gold medalists to present the Juno Fan Choice Award the results weren’t as pleasant as expected. When it was announced that Justin Bieber, who wasn’t in attendance, won the award the audience responded by both applauding and booing the Canadian singer as the gold medalists accepted the award on his behalf.

Later on during the night, Canadian singer Serena Ryder defended Bieber during own her acceptance speech.

“I really think that Justin Bieber is an amazing musician and he deserves every bit of that award,” she said. “He’s been working his ass off his entire life and we need to support how awesome he is. I’m not just trying to kiss ass. He’s amazing.”
