Houston Appreciation Week

Last night Drake‘s Houston Appreciation Weekend continued with a take over Warehouse Live last night (June 13). For those in attendance who were expecting to just see Drake show love to the H-Town crowd were pleasantly surprised when YG, Travi$ Scott, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, Tinashe, OB Brien, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Houston’s own Slim Thug and Lil’ Flip.

During his lengthy set Drizzy touched on a variety of his records ranging back to his So Far Gone mixtape and as recent as his latest release “0 – 100,” while tracks that serve as odes to Houston like “November 18th” are sprinkled in the seams.

HAW kicked off Thursday with a visit to a Houston Astros game and a pop shop before last night’s concert and after party at The Gatsby. The festivities continue today with a pool party, the premiere of Think Like A Man Too and a second after party featuring Drake and Kevin Hart. The weekend closes with a basketball tournament and the HAW Wrap Party at Club Paradise.

Earlier in the weekend the “Days in the East” rapper was honored with his own Day in Houston. Mayor Annise D. Parker announced that June 10 from this year forth will be in honor of Drake for “his passion and enthusiasm for music and our city.”

For those of you not in Houston to enjoy the festivities, Drake will be taking over the country with Lil Wayne as apart of their Drake Vs. Lil Wayne Tour. If you can’t wait until then, footage from last night’s show and pictures from the weekend are available in the pages below.
