What a week for mainstream hip-hop. Drake shut down the 2014 ESPYs with a memorable, SNL-esque performance; the overnight sensation Bobby Shmurda signed with Epic Records; Joe Budden lost to Hollow Da Don in the inaugural “Total Slaughter” event; and Drake also announced the title of his 4th album Views From The 6, setting Twitter in a frenzy. But, that’s not the only thing hip-hop had to offer this week — some great up and coming talent prevailed.
