After two decades in the game, Chicago legend Twista has seen it all and then some. After working with your favorite artists and crafting nine solo studio albums, one of which is the forthcoming Dark Horse, the fast-paced lyrical assassin is deserving of the honor of “one of the OGs” of the city of wind.

Despite his history of hits and career that is running a marathon in a genre where most artists can barely survive a lyrical 40 yard dash, Twista still finds himself unappreciated. With that understanding, Twista keeps consistent with what makes has carried him to this point, a steady formula and pleasing his fans.

“Working with my man Traxster man. We look at ourselves as scientists in the music,” Twista shares. “We were more on the ‘If it’s not broke, don’t fix it’ album.”

With Dark Horse set for a August 12 release and his single “It’s Yours” steadily gaining momentum, Twista is gearing up for another summer release adding to his discography of classic material. We caught up with the Windy City OG and chatted about the new wave of Chicago artist, the violence that plagues his home and his forthcoming album. – DeShawn Woodards (@DonMagicShawn)
