Chris Brown appeared in court today regarding a misdemeanor assault charge that results from an altercation between him and another man on the night of Oct. 27 in Washington D.C. Brown allegedly said “I’m not into this gay sh-t,”  before hitting the man, followed by “I’m into boxing.”

Today, Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, chose to reject a plea deal that would have lessened the charges to simple assault from where it currently stand as a misdemeanor assault, which carries more weight. TMZ reports that this is because Geragos is eager to see what is believed to be video evidence of what happened that night before taking any kind of plea. –Keith Reid-Cleveland
