2. Wiz Khalifa – Rolling Papers – 197,000 – Shame on everybody who sipped the kool-aid and believed that “Wiz-only-sold-6000-copies” rumor. Every tweet isn’t meant to take as truth, you know? And while the album had its hits and misses, let’s be clear, even if Wiz sold 6,000 copies, he was going to be straight anyway. “Black & Gold” and its single sales alone were going to pad his pockets and when is the last time you heard Wiz wasn’t on tour? Exactly.

4. Chris Brown – F.A.M.E. – 91,000 – He’s about 150,000 away from gold, which means he should receive that plaque sometime in May. The real battle, however, will be between he and Weezy and their fight for attention with one Skylar Diggins.

8. Snoop Dogg – Doggumentary – 50,000 – Eighteen years after Doggystyle dropped a bomb on Hip Hop, Snoop is still here and doing songs with everyone from Wiz Khalifa to Katy Perry to Charlie Sheen. Say what you will, but the man is a living legend. And speaking of Khalifa, it’s good to see they released the video for “The Weed Iz Mine.” I’m pretty sure that can’t be an official single, but it is a dope record nonetheless.

14. Rihanna – Loud – 24,000 – 1.1M and climbing. In a related note, she was named XXL’s Baddest Chick In The Game” yesterday. In other words, “the chick most people want to have sex with.”

16. Lupe Fiasco – Lasers – 23,000 – At 300K sold, I’m willing to bet this is a win for all parties involved. Then again, with Lupe and Atlantic’s relationship, who the hell really knows?

40 & 42. E-40 – Revenue Retrievin’:Graveyard Shift & Revenue Retrievin’: Overtime Shift – 14,000 & 13,000 – A lot of rappers claim to get love in their hometowns, but E-40 and The Bay go together like cookouts and summertime. Plus, I read somewhere a long time ago that 40 Water owes his own publishing and distribution. I’m not exactly sure how true it is, but if it is, that’s hustling.

54. Mac Miller – On And On And Beyond EP – 11,000Rostrum Records is having the best week ever. No real hardcore promotion behind this and the kid sells 11K digital copies? It’s money to be made out here. Creativity and building a reliable brand is the name of the game.

I’m sure you’re speaking of “Black & Yellow” not “Black & Gold”?
