Bill Cosby And Russell Simmons Still Aren’t Friends

Don’t expect either of these guys to appear at the other’s next birthday party. For those who are currently in the dark, Cosby and Simmons haven’t seen eye to eye in over two years now since Russell spoke out on Bill’s “State Of Emergency” project. Cliff Huxtable has never shied away from voicing his opinion on the Black community and everything he perceives wrong with it. This criticism has been, at times, directed to those of the Hip Hop community, which Simmons took offense to.

Well, the two crossed paths again at this past weekend at the Jackie Robinson Annual Awards dinner and apparently the iconic comedian wanted nothing to do with a truce.

I wanted to find him to apologize, to tell him I was sorry about my statements and to tell him that I loved him. Suddenly I turned and he was behind the curtain and I said “I love you” and he responded on some real hip-hop, “Get the f*ck out my face!

His next move was straight up old school pre b-boy hood shit. He walked by me and bumped me with his shoulder as I walked off stage after presenting my award to Sean […] I then loved him even more.

  1. hymn says:

This is just such a good strategy diss by Russell Simmons. While getting the public’s sympathy, turning Bill Cosby into the bad guy while attributing him to the very culture he hates. Brilliantly done by a master. I don’t like Bill Cosby because he shuns our whole culture. As an activist for equality how can you hate Lupe?
