TIME became the first official outlet to share Beyoncé’s video to “Pretty Hurts,” off of Beyoncé, after she was named as one of “100 Most Influential People of the Year” and will be featured on the cover of this year’s issue.  The video focuses on the true meaning of beauty while Beyoncé plays a role as a contestant in a beauty pageant as “Ms. 3rd Ward.”

Throughout the video, Bey is shown juggling issues of self-image and many of the damaging things that come with it. The message is that you’re beautiful the way you are and that’s what’s most important.
