The 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards was taped in Atlanta over the weekend (Sept. 28) and word of who will be participating in this year’s cyphers has officially leaked. There is an impressive list of names that gathered together to spit bars on the mic for the awards show, but every year there are artists that fans would love to see join in the sessions. Check out some of our suggestions below.

The Future of Chicago Cypher

Headlined by rising star Chance The Rapper, the new wave of Chicago hip-hop would be very strong cypher. Along side of Chance, Save Money rapper Vic Mensa, who is also rapidly making quite a name for himself, would be on-hand for a Bulls-like assist. To grasp all the sounds that compose the “new Chicago,” grabbing up Lil Durk and King L would provide the street sound that has defined the city’s dominant Drill movement.

La Familia Cypher

How great would it be for Jay Z to step outside his office and hop on that black and white screen? The Roc Nation sergeant could step into the ring and, in classic Hov style, dangle his Roc Chain, setting the hip-hop world on fire. Making it even better, the ROC leader could bring along J. Cole and let the Born Sinner run crazy over the mic before surprising the world and unleashing Jay Electronica. Those three would be sure to give the cypher of a lifetime. Wishful thinking though, right?

A Taste of Atlanta Cypher

Imagine a collection of Hotlanta’s dopest hitmakers, including 2 Chainz, Future, Rich Homie Quan and Trinidad Jame$, to bring that southern swagger to the award show cypher. With their different styles, each artist would provide a well-rounded peek at the ATL music scene. To make it more interesting how about throwing Gucci Mane to rap either apologies or insults? Too much?

The Control Cypher

In what would be the longest BET Cypher of All-Time, we would love to see every rapper that was mentioned in Kendrick’s now infamous “Control” verse get their chance to try to outperform each other all at once. From Meek Mill to Drake to Pusha T, it would be interesting to get all of those faces in one place, lyrically slugging it out to crown who’s the best. Not only would it make for a entertaining show, it would also continue to stir up the battle for supremacy going on in rap. Would it be too much to introduce J.Cole as Jermaine?
