August Alsina appeared on BET’s 106 & Park to promote his new album, Testimony, which dropped today (April 15). But sadly, it wasn’t his album that made Twitter headlines.

During the interview, host Keshia Chante asked if there was ever a chance that he and Trey Songz would end their beef. Apparently, Alsina requested for the hosts not to ask him about Trey prior to the interview, so his response was less polite than many would have preferred.

“So you just gon’ go against the grain,” he said. “I just told ya’ll not to ask me that shit when I got up in here.”

After the shocking moment, Keshia and her co-host Bow Wow smoothly completed the segment and allowed for August to introduce his new video, “Get Ya Money” featuring Fabolous. With Testimony being a milestone as Alsina’s first major release and a dedication to his late brother, was this just a matter of miscommunication?
