Working behind the scenes in music doesn’t include the chance of being in the spotlight in most cases, but ASCAP made that happen for six women last night.

Last night, ASCAP held their “Women Behind The Music” event in two cities, with some of the hardest working women being celebrated that included K. Michelle, Gail Mitchell of Billboard, Myisha Brooks of Motown Records in LA, and Jazmine Sullivan, DJ Kiss, and Sam Selolwane in NYC.

The night kicked off with a MYX and Mingle hour, sponsored by the Moscato brand, before presenting the honorees with their awards. After, the three honorees in each city sat down to do a Q&A with moderation from Nicole George-Middleton in NYC, and Mir Harris in LA.

Towards the end of the night, guests in the Big Apple got to experience a performance from Jazmine, who took the stage to sing her tracks “Stupid Girls,” and “Forever.”

Also spotted at the West Coast event were Love & Hip Hop Hollywood stars Teairra Marie, and her ex-boyfriend Ray-J, who posed it up with creator Mona Scott-Young.
