After much speculation about when the new Jimi Hendrix biopic will surface, we now have the date and the official trailer for the new film, which will be starring Andre 3000 as Jimi.

The upcoming movie, set to hit theaters on September 26th, aims to depict the life of the legendary Jimi Hendrix, from an unknown backup guitarist to the iconic rock legend that we remember him as today. The revealing biopic was written and directed by John Ridley, who recently won an Academy Award for his work with “12 Years A Slave”, giving us the idea that another classic film is on the way.

Jimi Hendrix will always be remembered as one of the most important figures in the history of music and his contributions to Rock & Roll in the 1960s will never go unnoticed. His early death in 1970 left several fans distraught and despite only having a 4-year career on a mainstream level, Jimi will go down as one of the best to ever do it.
