Breaking her silence on the internet, hip-hop star Iggy Azalea has announced the birth of her first child. Taking to her Instagram story, Iggy states, “I have a son. I kept waiting for the right time to say something but if feels like the more time passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world.”

Iggy, 30, has not shared further details on her son’s birth or the identity of the baby’s father, but has made it clear that her son is not a secret and that she wants him to grow up outside of the spotlight. In her social media post, Iggy adds, “I want to keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret & I love him beyond words.”

As Iggy, born Amethyst Amelia Kelly, has been noticeably absent from social media, her previous return in May found her posting stunning photos, which showed off her curvy body and opposed the concept that Iggy was pregnant at all. During this time, rumors still continued to circulate of Iggy having given birth to a child with Playboi Carti.
