When you think of the name Pharrell, we know to expect nothing short of amazing. Along with a soulful and energized choir, Pharrell performed “Letter to My Godfather” on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show on Monday, Jan 6th. Although the song was emotional, it was good seeing Pharrell back on the stage. More recently, Williams hopped on Kaytranada’s new album, Bubba, on the song “Midsection.” With the recent cameos Pharrell has been blessing us, hopefully new music will drop soon.

According to Billboard, the song originally appeared documentary, The Black Godfather on Netflix, dedicated to the legendary music executive, Clarence Avant.  Around the song’s release Pharrell shared his words on the legend’s influence:

Clarence Avant connects us all through his incredible impact since before I was born up until now. He’s the godfather to so many of us — and not just African Americans, most of the industry.

That’s right ladies and gentleman, Clipse.
