Tekashi 6ix9ine had social media on fire a few months ago when he put on an MVP type performance at the witness stand when he testified a few months ago.

Prosecutors are evidently so grateful for the great work that 6ix9ine has done for them, that they’re asking the judge for leniency on his sentence.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ, the U.S Attorney in the Southern District of New York, they lay out the reasons for why they are asking for a reduced sentence for 6ix9ine’s case. One of them being that his testimony was “incredibly significant and extremely useful” in prosecuting and convicting two members of the Nine Trey Bloods.

Another reason for asking leniency on 6ix9ine’s sentence is that they acknowledge that his testimony put him and his family in danger.

The prosecution also added that 6ix9ine’s family would require protection at all times.

6ix9ine copped a plea deal after pleading guilty to racketeering, firearms offenses, conspiracy, narcotics trafficking, and other crimes. 6ix9ine agreed to be a cooperating witness, and without that would be facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 47 years in prison.

The sentence reduction will be ultimately up to the judge after hearing the prosecutions case for a lighter sentence, whether they will end up reducing 6ix9ine’s sentence.
