Representing LA and West Indian roots, Jay 305 is a rapper to watch out for. The Interscope artist is a LA staple who also spent his young adulthood in Miami. Jay 305 has received the likes of Kendrick Lamar and YG, and has frequently worked with producer, DJ Mustard. After his prison release in 2014, he was signed to Interscope and Dom Kennedy’s label, Other People’s Money. Following his mixtape, Inner City Hero and debut album, Taking All Bets, 305 released his new single, “Real Time” this month.

Watch the black and white music video for “Real Time” here:

305 has collaborated with mainstream artists including Rita Ora, Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Chris Brown, T.I. and Tyga. He’s also known to have the best strip club bangers with hits like “Yuck It Up” and “Thuggin.”

While his music represents his LA roots, he isn’t afraid to try new things. In 2017, he told Billboard, his plans to make reggae music with Snoop Dogg:

“My mom is from Jamaica and my dad is from Barbados, so reggae was the first music that I ever listened to. It wasn’t nothing else, it was all reggae, even though my mom would listen to oldies, the reggae was from my dad. So I probably got into rap when I was 5 or 6, but those years, I was listening to reggae. So the reggae album would probably have to be with my boy Snoop.”
