Set for November 15 and 16, the inaugural Shawn Carter Foundation Gala Weekend will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Drawing out major stars like Beyoncé and Rihanna, the Gala’s proceeds will benefit the foundations scholarship fund, college prep workshops and bus tours, community goodwill, and study abroad opportunities. 

Jay-Z took to Instagram to state, “Equipping our youth with the tools to succeed will always be a priority for me and my family. I’m looking forward to continuing that mission at this year’s Shawn Carter Foundation Gala Weekend, where we’ll celebrate our scholars and continue to support young people in a meaningful way.”

The weekend is set to kickoff on 11/15 with Roc Nation representative Meek Mill participating in the invitation-only High Roller Blackjack Tournament. The next day, at the Black tie Gala, attendees will be able to see Alicia Keys headline an exciting concert.

In 2003, Jay-Z and his mother, Gloria Carter, founded The Shawn Carter Foundation as a public charity. Empowering youth and communities in need, the foundations mission is “to help individuals facing social-economic hardships further their education at institutions of higher learning.” Over $4 million dollars have supported the programs initiatives since inception.
