Jacquees Sets Early November Release Date For His Sophomore Album “King of R&B”

Set to hit shelves November 8th is Jacquees’ highly anticipated sophomore album “King of R&B.” Disregarding the backlash and criticism the self-proclamation brought about in December of 2018, Jacquees admits that his viral video was the inspiration behind the new album title. “King of R&B” is expected to include Jacquees’ latest single “Verify” with Young Thug and Gunna.
After posting a video where he proudly claimed to be this generation’s King of R&B, Jacquees was met with strong opinions in regards to who truly holds the prestigious title. Specifically, Jacquees said that he “is the King of R&B right now for this generation.”
In recent news, the self-proclaimed title has even caused a war between Jacquees and YK Osiris. During an interview with Sway Calloway, YK stated “Chris Brown. He’s the King. But you gotta understand, in this generation, ain’t a lot of singers. Jacquees, I don’t think he really even mess with me like that. Not music-wise. Now vocals, yeah, he got it. But like music? Nah, fa sho.” As Jacquees was not here for YK’s comments, he took to Instagram to blast YK, stating in a video, “YK Osiris, stop knocking on my f****** door. Stop asking me for big bro advice. Stop. You had my name in your mouth with Sway. That was a mistake. You can’t sing like me lil’ bro. I wanted you to win, I still do. Don’t bring my m***********g name up. You not on my level—at all.”
“King of R&B,” which was originally titled “Round 2,” is expected to raise the bar for Jacquees as his first album peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard 200 with his breakout single, “B.E.D,” climbing to No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100. Following the release of Jacquees’ debut album “4275,” the R&B singer’s sophomore entry is set to be released via Cash Money Records.
