The Roc Nation duo, Casanova and Fabolous quickly reminded us that the East Coast birthed Hip-Hop in their new song, “So Brooklyn.” With the over-saturated ‘pop-rap’ we hear everyday, the Brooklyn lyricists delivered the world a reality check.

Directed by Rock Davis, watch the official music video for Cassanova’s “So Brooklyn” featuring Fabolous.

While Fabolous undoubtedly owns his crown as one of the most thorough lyricists of our time, Casanova’s success as an artist is also rising in the industry. His breakout song, “Dont Run” and debut project, Commissary makes us eager to see what he has in store for his upcoming album, Behind These Scars.

Oh, and if you haven’t heard Casnova’s rendition to Mobb Deep’s “Quiet Storm,” watch below. You will automatically become a fan.

According to Billboard, rapper Maino started the #SoBrooklynChallenge on social media which will heighten the number of streams for the song. In addition, Maino is scheduled to be on the “So Brooklyn” remix and can be seen in the video along with Flipp Dinero, Papoose, Lil Cease, 2 Milly, and even NBA player Lance Stephenson.

Casanova and Fabolous truly showed their appreciation for their hometown with authenticity, gritty verses, and clean visuals. Real New York and real bars…I strongly approve.
