In addition to talking about “Hurricanes” and “Port of Miami 2,” Ross responded to Nicki Minaj’s comments regarding his lyrics in “Apple in My Eye.” Ross said, “I mean, if somebody went to meet Obama with you, she is a keeper until you find out otherwise.” He continues on, “She was around me a few times. Other than that, she was a huge talent. She was playing a very important position at the time. She was in-between Meek and Drake.”

Ross goes on to speak positively on everyone involved in the situation and their progression as he said, “Playing that position, that was a very fragile role and it would be very easy to put that responsibility on her.” Ross continues, “When I seen it go to sour, it would be easy to assume she had something to do with that, and if somebody tell you they didn’t, they lying. But everybody moved forward. She moved forward, she doing her thing. I’m happy to see her do that. Meek doing his thing. Drizzy, they doing they thing.” Nicki took to Twitter after the interview was released and shared her opinion as well.

The recent drama comes from the 2017 track “Apple of My Eye,” which found Ross referring to Nicki after her split with Meek Mill. In the song, Ross says, “I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki/Instead of beefin’ with your dog, you just give ’em some distance.” Tune in at the 33:00 mark to hear Ross discuss the situation in detail.
