Schoolboy Q is back after releasing the highly anticipated album, Crash Talk. More recently, his new hit single “Lies” featuring YG and Ty Dolla $ign was the perfect blend of LA sounds we needed to hear for the summer.

Directed by the Harlem native and multi-faceted creative, Teyana “Spike Tee” Taylor, the visual was both fun and comical to watch. Oh, and the old-fashion, different colored-shiny cars floating throughout the video made me wish I had one of my own.

With Q’s flow, YG’s West Coast flavored lyrics, and Ty Dolla $ign’s jazzy vocals, I’m personally in love with the song. Besides the other dope features on Crash Talk like 6LACK, Kid Cudi, Lil Baby, 21 Savage and Travis Scott, “Lies” thoroughly portrayed Schoolboy Q’s hometown and LA roots.

Needless to say, the whole Crash Talk album was fire, check it out if you haven’t.

On top of that, Teyana Taylor’s creative eye for these music videos leaves us open and eager to see what she’ll come up with next. In this video, the prime location was at an outdoor film screening that turned into a fun party you wish you got invited to.

It’s good to see Schoolboy Q blossoming into his artistry with a clear mind after taking some time off to deal with personal issues. We all need a break at some point, and Q is back like he never left!
